hard-working population of 584 million are either ruled by a small, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational
corporations; it's difficult to tell which.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing
demands of Law & Order, Social Welfare, and Education. The average income tax rate is 66%. A powerhouse of a private sector
is led by the Beef-Based Agriculture, Gambling, and Uranium Mining industries.
Naturists are jailed regularly for indecent exposure, murderers frequently escape punishment by claiming they were protecting
their honour, roads are often attended by round-the-clock construction crews, and streakers swamp all public events in order
to bare it all. Crime is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education
and welfare. Luram's national animal is the Red Head Eagle, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation,
and its currency is the PTS.
